Compared to when she was at home she seems to have improved greatly in conversation, sense of humour and concentration. She seems to be extremely happy with her place and is clean and well cared for. Yes, we have access to GPs at all times and for emergencies, we have a Hospital close by ambulance. If not, there are several good GP practices nearby where some of our residents are registered. As long as the practice you are registered with is happy to travel to the nursing home it is possible to keep your GP.

Yes, we assess changes in residents eating habits and when there is cause for concern the local SALT department visit the residents concerned and advise what is required. A hairdresser visits every week, a chiropodist every 6 weeks and communions are held once a month. Eye tests can be conducted in the home and visits to the dentist can be arranged. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities & interact with other residents, but resident’s preferences are always respected.

My 97-year-old nanna has come on leaps and bounds since coming to the care home in 2020. One lady has been amazing in setting up initially facetime over the portal and then visits.

The all-around care Brooklands provided was exceptional – from the carers, nurses, cleaning staff, chefs and management nothing was ever too much trouble. Banbury Heights has been run by the Taylor family for over 10 years and they are still an active part of our nursing home. Residential care is long-term care provided to adults who are staying in a residential setting rather than in their own home. Our homes provide accommodation, meals, daily activities and personal care such as washing and eating. Brooklands is a purpose build 45 beds residential and nursing care home.Our specially adapted interiors and exteriors, friendly staff and family-based atmosphere invite the residents to relax and enjoy their stay. Above all, we are firmly committed to making everyone who stays with us feel completely at home. Brooklands accommodates 29 residents for long and short term nursing care.
Activities are planned and actioned through our Activities Co-ordinator; a 4 weekly plan is available. Our cooks work on alternate days preparing and providing meals to our residents 3 times a day to meet each individual’s dietary needs. We make sure our residents start the day right with a filling breakfast including cereals, fruit, toast and porridge, plus a daily changing choice of hot options. Our Residents are welcome to have breakfast any time they desire, and we are happy to accommodate their morning schedule. Even when visits proved impossible the staff always managed to maintain regular communication both in terms of mum’s condition and also to facilitate video calls on a very regular basis with mum.

Therapeutic activities are available for all our residents including those living with dementia; these include normal recreational events.
Brooklands offers residents an experience tailored specifically to their needs. Our chef teams use great ingredients to provide freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals based on regularly changing, seasonal menus. We make mealtimes an occasion for our residents, enabling them to enjoy their food in welcoming surroundings and catered for by our care teams. Residents always have multiple options to choose from at all meal times and can opt for something different if they change their minds when the food arrives. Brooklands provided a caring, friendly and safe environment from day one.
This technology adds to our well-being, and the activities mix helps us keep our Residents sharp, happy and entertained. All three outcomes can be achieved through residents interaction with the table and the carer guidance. Brooklands Care home has 46 members of staff, between them, they have several years of care experience. Of the 24 Care Staff, all hold an NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care. My mother arrived at this home in May 2020, so has been a resident for 14 months.
Bariatric care is provided in both a residential and nursing setting depending on a resident’s needs. Our teams are trained to support bariatric residents with their mobility, provide the right type of care to meet individual needs , as well as supporting bariatric residents with their daily tasks. Our chef teams make sure dietary requirements and plans are followed whilst also being considerate to any preferences our bariatric residents may have. Brooklands is 45 beds purpose build care home registered with CQC for residential and nursing care. The recreational time was a key feature and the staff were very creative and inventive in their efforts to keep the residents occupied and entertained. The carers showed kindness in everything they did and the medical team were exceptional. The Meadows is a 34 bedded care home close to local amenities and public transport routes. Bedrooms are located on two floors with communal rooms on the ground floor.
